Hello!

The SLA Home and School Association hopes this letter finds our community well and in relatively good spirits. We are working to make sure we are in a good place when we come back in the fall. We are thankful for all of the support of our fundraisers, especially during this difficult year. Everything that we have dealt with has made it harder than usual to reach our financial goals for the year.

We have postponed the Stock’s Pound Cake Fundraiser and our Silent Auction until the fall of 2020. Right now, depending on how it all goes, we have a tentative date for the Auction which is Friday, September 25th. We will update you as we learn more about that. In addition, we are working with Stocks and will notify you of the revised delivery date for the pound cake sale. By postponing the Auction alone, we are behind between $15,000 to $20,000 in our fundraising goals for the year. That brings us to as much as $30,000 short in total for the 2019-2020 school year. Our plan is to pick up in the fall with these and new fundraising opportunities with the hope of catching up as best we can.

That being said, we understand this pandemic has caused not only a strain on our health and emotions, but a financial strain as well. If you have already paid for one or both fundraisers, and you find that you would prefer to be reimbursed, please reach out to me and I will make sure that prepaid amount is refunded. If you are able, we can roll the money over to the future sale and Auction. Along those lines, if you are able and would like to make a donation to the SLA HSA at this time, we are excited to report that an SLA family has generously offered to match all donations up to $5,000. If you would like to contribute to that match challenge, please see the PayPal link here, or reach out to me about other ways to give now.

Thank you again for all your support of SLA and our community. Take care and be safe.

Sincerely,
Courtney Chobert
