2023–24 Budget Presentation
The budget is guided by the principles of increasing opportunities for all students and improving the school in lasting ways. We have allocated money for Jeremy Spry’s position;
We have funded sports teams, clubs and extracurriculars. We have also help fund travel for the SLA Ambassadors, as well as supplement teachers’ programming, help fund school trips, and supplement senior gifts. There are budget lines to support sports teams, academic departments, for teacher appreciation gifts and events; for student socials, prom, and more.
Next year’s budget will, in turn, depend on this year’s fundraising. That means it’s up to YOU, the community, to make sure that these programs, activities, and improvements can be supported again next year! If you care about maintaining these opportunities for your student, for future students, and for the good of the school overall, please do. Join the HSA with a voluntary donation today.

BACK TO SCHOOL EVENTS:
Each fall, SLA rolls out the welcome mat for our annual Open House and Back to School Night, specially designed for budding students and their families. It’s our golden moment to showcase what sets us apart, resonate with our deeply-held values, and offer a glimpse into our unique learning haven.
With the aid of our dedicated parent volunteers, the event truly comes alive! They’re there every step of the way – from warmly greeting attendees, guiding families through our vibrant corridors, to sharing personal SLA stories and addressing curiosities. Dive into the heart of SLA and discover the magic firsthand.

Back-to-School Night, New Family Night, Conferences
Volunteers are always needed to greet families, sell SLA gear and help people navigate the building. Responsibilities are generally light and these events are a great way to meet other community members while also helping the school.

Open House
SLA hosts one Open House each fall for prospective students and families. This is an opportunity for us to share our values, speak about our difference and welcome the community into our special learning community. Parent volunteers assist with this event by greeting guests, navigating them through our hallways, being on hand for questions and sharing individual experiences about the school with our visitors.
There are many opportunities to get involved with the Home and School Association. You can serve as a committee chair or a committee member.
Consider getting involved with any of the following:
